This was not perfect method, as there were delays in communication - from his perspective at least.
He found a way however.
Since a long time he liked Ravens, he bought & played with Raven Familiar Arts, to the point he could develop Rites & Spells that summoned Astral Ravens, Astral Guardians & Spies.
He used them to protect kids who had mind contact with him, as well as adults whom he befriended.
Astral Ravens could pass messages, spy on enemies or even fight a little when neccessary.
A few of enemies were watched by Astral Ravens, even if not full-time.
As methods developed, kids started to 'feed' ravens with magickal & dharmic energies, with mana & karma points - Runner & other adults as well.
He occasionally asked Ravens if kids are safe, so kids could tell their Invisible Raven friends if they are bothered or endangered, then Ravens flied through Astral Space, passed messages & returned.
Once he spoke spell - mantras that organized support for one attacked girl.
It was also one of first steps for developing his Astral Avatar more fully, as well as for summoning Astral Guardians where neccessary.
